New PhD opportunity studying Greenland freshwater flux

A new PhD opportunity is available investigating the impact of accelerating Greenland ice melt on ocean circulation and global climate. The primary aim of the PhD is to investigate the impact of changes in freshwater input on the strength of the AMOC using a combination of observations and ocean modelling.

The PhD will be based at Bristol University but is being run in collaboration with colleagues at the National Oceanographic Centre, University of Southampton and University of Exeter. The deadline for applications is 11:59pm on Friday 8th January 2021. More details, including how to apply, are available here.

This project is one of the latest set of NERC GW4+ DTP projects being offered by the School of Geographical Sciences at Bristol University. The NERC GW4+ DTP (Great Western Four+ Doctoral Training Partnership) aims to recruit the most promising students from the UK in the field of earth and environmental sciences. For the time being, we unfortunately cannot accept applications from international applicants for these funded studentships.
